Flaura is a small family owned business created in the memory of a family member whose wish was for an eco-friendly funeral. Having found it extremely difficult to find completely earth friendly products, the business was established after sourcing like-minded suppliers. Flaura are proud to supply 100% earth friendly coffins, ash caskets and laser engraved bamboo name plaques to the funeral industry and pet crematoriums.
Our philosophy is Earth First and we adopt a holistic eco-friendly approach to everything that we do. Our products are made from sustainable, biodegradable and highly renewable resources and we also ensure that the rest of our business model has as little impact on the environment as possible. All our coffins and caskets are hand-woven by skilled weavers working from an ethically responsible factory in China. They are lined with natural, unbleached calico liners and the coffins contain no nails, wire or metal, making them 100% biodegradable. The Sea grass that we use is cultivated by farmers who grow it in inland water pools and lakes, thus preserving the coastal wildlife habitats in areas of the sea where it is grown naturally. It is highly renewable and grown in environments where sustainability is the overriding consideration.
